Codemotion Rome - Sharing career advice and cloud pittfalls

codemotion amsterdam
One of the really interesting and global conference is Codemotion. I've been lucky enough to speak at three different version in Europe.

This year I've targeted the Amsterdam conference and going to also put the talks outlined here in to the Rome edition.

Rome was my first ever Codemotion event and since have spoken there twice, hoping now for a third visit to the great developer conference that they put on.

The talks below are of an inspirational nature and targeting soft skills. They are proven talks that were well received, so let's see if they float for the Codemotion Rome committee.

2018 in review - Portfolio Architecture and storytelling

2018 in reviewEvery year ends and every year it's always good to look back on the times we have shared, the trips taken and what's been accomplished.

This year I transitioned into a new team focused on the entire Portfolio, specifically generating solution architecture blueprints.

While I continue to function as a Global Technology Evangelist, I've also been tasked with creating generic architectural blueprints of real customer based solutions that make use of the open technology portfolio at Red Hat. Watch for more of this in my publishing, social media, and talks in 2019.

I am now approaching ten years at Red Hat and we're living in interesting times. With that in mind, here's my review activities from 2018.

All Things Open 2018 - Lightning Talk on How To Jump Start a Career in Open Source (video)

all things openLast October I was in Raleigh, North Carolina speaking at All Things Open.

I gave a lightning talk on how to jump start a career in open source, in just 6 minutes.

The topic is near and dear to my heart, so as a lightning talk it was fun to promote the full session I gave earlier this Summer in one of the most amazing venues I've ever spoken at.

The talk includes links to the recording of that venue and the complete story I told. After the talk I posted the slides, but we've been waiting on the video recording of the session and it's arrived!
